Santai Philosophy
What is this life?
08 Mar 2021
What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the clouds, And stare as long as grazin' cows. No time to hear the mountain breeze Sings its song in the rustling leaves No time to smell the morning’s birth, A misty spell of dew drenched earth No time to calm our wanderin’ thoughts Enjoying now, worries forgot A poor life this if, full of care We have no time to stand and stare. |
_______
This is our version of W.H. Davies’ well-known poem, “Leisure”
The poem resonates with our Santai-philosophy, but the landscapes of 1911 England is different from our 2021 Sukabumi (our squirells eats nangka and not nuts).
We rewrote bits of it to include the nature moments that we enjoy here in Sukasantai
